Tom Steiner, President, Space Unit sent us scans of B579, B581, B582 and B583 covers that are missing the background color of the Beck cachet.

We don't know if these covers were mistakes or if Mr. Beck intended to leave the background off. If you have any other examples of the missing background for this flight, please let us know.  Please send a scan.

This very important cover is from the collection of Steve Durst and is only the second one we have seen. Est. Value $50-125

Note: any difference in the apparent color of  the covers in each series is due to scans and not printing issues.

Example off a "cancelled" rubber stamp added to a printed Beck cover.  Origin of the RS is unknown.

Similar 603 Wasp cover along with 8 secondary ships sold on eBay for $49.95. June 2005
